I love a good bargain. If there was an "Extreme Cheapskates" beauty edition, I would be featured for sure! (In case you have better things to do than watch TLC, Extreme Cheapskates is a hilarious and somewhat disturbing reality show about people who eat out of the trash and share floss, by choice! hahaha)

About 2 weeks ago I went to Clicks, I was looking for a red nail polish and I went straight over to the Essence display, because I love Essence and it's super affordable, even on a stay-at-home mom's pay - which is mainly made up out of hugs, kisses and tantrums.
Anyway, the shelf was just about bare and all of the red polish was sold out. So I browsed along the shelves and stumbled upon the Wet n Wild display!

Wet n Wild is fairly new to South Africa, and I haven't seen any of their products in store yet. So when I saw it, I tried to act cool and walk over there like a decent human being. But in reality, I pretty much ran over there like a savage beast, I couldn't wait to get my paws on it.
I ended up picking 2 Wet n Wild Wild Shine nail polishes, I couldn't believe how cheap they were, only R23.95 each. That's even cheaper than Essence - score!

I picked up Tickled pink, a beautiful, powdery Barbie pink and Red Red, a sexy, high-end hooker red.

Tickled Pink is so beautiful, it makes me feel girly and sweet. And I think it makes my hands look more feminine, too.
After the first coat I was very skeptical, it was so streaky and transparent. I wasn't expecting very much from the second coat:

To my surprise, after the second coat the result was beautiful! I could have gone for a third coat, but who has that kind of time?

Red Red applied much easier, if you had to, you could get away with only one thick-ish coat.
There's something about red nail polish that just makes me feel so sexy, actually, red lipstick and red shoes have the same effect. I love red, but I don't wear it nearly often enough. I also think it "pops" much more on my pale skin than the pink. And as you can see I got a much cleaner looking end result with the Red Red.

Overall I was very impressed with these polishes, I don't think you can find a better quality polish for the price. Most nail polishes only last a maximum of one full day on my nails, usually after my first shower they start chipping.
But with the Wet n Wild polishes I could get 2 full days of wear, with only slight chips on the third day.

The formula is really nice, it's thin and runny, I hate thick polishes. It's easy to apply and it dries quite fast.
However, the brush is not the best. It's just a really bad quality brush that screams CHEAP! I like the polish brushes that have a rounded edge, so you get that nice, round and clean cuticle line. It's a bit trickier to get a 100% neat mani with this brush, but it's possible. Although I'm not a fan of the brush, it's most certainly not a deal breaker for me, and I've already ordered more ... from my husband (I not-so-subtly hinted that I would like a whole lot more of these for Christmas) Haha!

If you haven't already, be sure to check these out, in my opinion it's great value for the price.

Happy hump day lovelies!

xoxo Adel
