Hi there lovelies :)
Today I felt like doing a hairstyle that's a bit more fun than my usual everyday styles, and what's more fun than hippie-inspired dreadlocks?
Even though I was feeling a bit daring, I'm not about to commit to natural dreads, so I thought I would do this cute temporary version instead.
This is the end result:
I also wanted it to look a bit more feminine than regular dreads, so this is how I did it:
Step 1: Gather your supplies, a comb, some hair wax/gel/hairspray and a few bobby pins.
Step 2: Take a section of hair, completely up to you how thick or thin you want them, and using the comb slightly tease the entire length of the section.
Step 3: Now generously apply wax, gel or hairspray to the section and start rolling in between your palms, in one direction.
Step 4: It's quite time consuming, but you will see your dread starting to take shape. When you're happy with what it looks like spray with hairspray to keep it that way.
Step 5 : Continue doing this until you have a head full of gorgeous dreads, then you can take a few dreads and pin them back with bobby pins to give you a softer and more feminine look.
And you're all done! Your dreads will stay in place until you wash your hair.
I wouldn't recommend doing this more than twice a week, to avoid damage to your lovely locks.
When you're ready to take them out be sure to wet your hair and apply a generous amount of conditioner before attempting to brush it out.
I also added some hair chalk just for a bit of extra fun:
I hope you love this as much as I do!
xoxo Adel
