Review: SwiitchBeauty Eyeshadow Brush Set

29 January 2017 15:01
Hi my loves!

Today I am reviewing the 8 Piece eye shadow brush set from SwiitchBeauty. If you don't know about SwiitchBeauty, you probably don't have instagram ;)
(Fun fact: The founder is a beautiful young lady who is only 16 years old!) I love this brand, they sell trendy makeup products, skincare goodies, makeup brushes and other cool beauty gadgets - at really affordable prices. They also offer free shipping all over South Africa, it's truly an impressive brand that will no doubt continue to grow.

Now onto the brushes:

These beauties retail for R300 for a set of 8, which means you are paying less than R40 per brush! That is unheard of in the world of makeup brushes.

If you buy this set, you don't really need another eye brush ever again, except maybe a liner brush. There is truly a brush for every step of eye shadow application, and the brushes are really good quality, super soft AND cruelty free! No bunnies were harmed in the making of these.

I also wanted to make sure to thoroughly test them before writing this review, so I washed them to see if they would shed - and I am happy to report that between all 8 of them, not a single hair was shed. I'm so impressed.

This post is not sponsored, although the brushes were sent to me. I will never promote a brand or product that I am not 100% happy with, because I know how much it sucks to go out and buy something on the recommendation of a blogger you trust, only to be disappointed. I am extremely passionate about honesty and transparency in the beauty community.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and if you are in the market for some new brushes (or other awesome goodies) - go have a peek on SwiitchBeauty's website .

P.S. I will have a full review of the #Glowgasm highlighter palette up on my Youtube channel tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Sunday ♥

♥ Why #ILoveBeautyBulletin ♥

09 November 2016 17:20
Hi my loves!

Today I'm sharing the Beauty Bulletin love :)

If you don't know what Beauty Bulletin is, they are South Africa’s largest Word of Mouth Beauty Review Network. It's a place to connect with fellow beauty addicts, and share your opinion on products that you have tried.

Often times when I'm shopping online and I see an interesting product, I head over to their website ( ) and see if there are any reviews of that product, it's really helpful to see what other people thought of the product before actually buying it - especially if it's on the pricier side.

You create a profile on Beauty Bulletin, which they use to match you up with the perfect products for you, then all you do is fill in the surveys (which they will email you) and if you fit the criteria they will send you products to review. Now, the really great thing is, you get to be completely honest! They will NEVER ask you to say you love something when you don't. This is a huge plus for me, because I will never team up with a brand and write a glowing review if it is not 100% true.

They also have tons of fun competitions, with fabulous prizes up for grabs - Like the one they are currently running with ghd, where you stand to win your share of R200 000’s worth of ghd vouchers. All you have to do is invite your friends and followers to sign up and become a part of the Beauty Bulletin community. Share the love with Beauty Bulletin and ghd’s #MostWanted! For more info you can visit this link:

I hope will check out the Beauty Bulletin website if you haven't already :) I'm sure you will love them just as much as I do!

Have a wonderful week Beauties ♥♥♥

Nails Of The Week : Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy

31 May 2016 11:35
Last week Friday me, my mom and 2 of my 3 sisters went on an adventure - we set out to find the mythical Revlon White Tent sale!

We left the house just after 10am, and set out on what was supposed to be a 25 minute journey. Fast forward +- 3 hours, a lunch break and a few wrong turns, we finally found it! And was it ever so worth it.

Among a shitload few other items, I ended up getting the Revlon Colorstay Gel envy nail polish in "Perfect Pair" as well as the diamond Top Coat.

This normally retails for around R120.00 , but I only paid R20.00 for the top coat and R15.00 for the color - what a bargain!

This nail polish applies like a dream. It's creamy and not too thick, it does take about 3 coats to get it fully opaque, but it dries quite quickly. The top coat really does give a diamond shine, I doubt I'll ever use any other top coat again. For my accent nail I just sprinkled some gold glitter on top while the polish was still wet, and finished it off with a top coat (if you do this, make sure to clean your brush before putting it back into your bottle, or your top coat will be contaminated with glitter).

Now, would I say it looks exactly like gel? well... maybe not exactly, but it's pretty close. I also can't vouch for the staying power, because these aren't my natural nails. (You couldn't even tell they were fake? Really? How kind of you to say so.) And when I paint my falsies with any polish it tends to stay put for a good 2 weeks or so. If only that were the case with my natural nails. I'm not really on speaking terms with those sons of witches at the moment, after giving them all my love and cuticle oil, they still kept splitting and breaking. Talk about ungrateful.

Bottom line: I give this nail polish two perfectly manicured thumbs-ups!
